Permanent and Temporary Residency in Jamaica


PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN JAMAICA

A non-Jamaican national can apply for Permanent Residency in Jamaica on the following basis:

 

  1. Employment: Working in Jamaica for three years or more.

  2. Marriage: Being married to a Jamaican national.

  3. Retirement: Persons who no longer work in their home country and are desirous of living in Jamaica.

TEMPORARY RESIDENCY IN JAMAICA

Temporary Residence is where a foreign national resides in Jamaica by way of being a Student, Employment, Marriage to a Jamaican and being a dependent on an individual who works in the Island.

 

Extensions of stay are processed with three (3) working days by the Immigration Unit in the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA).
